As part of efforts to combat the recent increase in harmonics, some of our EC fan products use EC motors equipped with a harmonic suppression technology called Active PFC. With this technology, the total harmonic distortion (THDi) of conventional fan systems is approximately 33%, the same as with frequency inverters, but with products equipped with Active PFC, it can be reduced to less than 5%. In some cases, we can also propose reducing the building's transformers and emergency power capacity, which can lead to cost savings for the building owner.
