Agenda of this session is about Innovation of VirtIO, done by Linaro's collaboration with the partner companies, Panasonic. The main topics we will cover are: Linaro focuses on innovation, collaboration, and standardization in the Arm ecosystem. Linaro contributes to open-source projects like Linux, QEMU, and Android. VIRTIO standardizes device sharing across various execution environments. Virtio-msg aims to standardize communication for automotive and mobile applications. Linaro actively tests VIRTIO implementations and collaborates with partners like Panasonic.

Lina Iyer

Lina is an experienced low-level and embedded s/w engineer. She started with low level communication s/w for elevators and handheld delivery device s/w for bottlers in Europe and Asia while at Patni. She worked on power and thermal frameworks in the Linux kernel while at Qualcomm. She also worked on low level s/w for Vision at Apple. When not looking at a screen, she travels, enjoys meeting people, archery, biking and driving in the canyons.

Kazuki Kuzu

Kazuki Kuzu joined Panasonic Automotive Systems Co., Ltd. in 2020. Since then, he has been working as a software engineer, focusing on the development of virtualization technologies for embedded systems, including Hypervisor. He is responsible for architecture design, verification, and evaluation of virtualization systems. His hobbies include watching movies and playing PC games, and although he prefers indoor activities, he enjoys snowboarding during the winter.

Gen Shimada

For over 30 years, primarily worked on new businesses in the semiconductor and embedded IT fields, focusing on starting and expanding multiple businesses from scratch. In the 1990s, worked in business development at a local semiconductor company in Silicon Valley (C-Cube Microsystems). After returning to Japan, worked as a Director of the Consumer Electronics BU at ATI (now AMD), country manager at a French startup company, and Senior Director of the Embedded BU at Oracle, before the current position at Linaro. Education: University of California (computer engineering), Tokyo Institute of Technology (PhD), Waseda Business School (MBA).
