EdgeTech in the Generative AI Era:
Societal Implementation, Education, and Industrial Applications

Amid recent advances in AI, it is important for academia and industry to collaborate in discussing the societal implementation of large language models (LLMs) and AI technologies, as well as their applications in education and industry. To this end, IPSJ Special Interest Group on Embedded Systems (SIGEMB) launched a working group in fiscal year 2025 to promote these discussions through industry–academia collaboration. In this talk, the group’s representatives will summarize key discussions from these initiatives, synthesizing major topics and challenges across three areas -- LLM-assisted software engineering(Prof. Nakajime, AIST), AI applications in education(Prof. Watanabe, Tokai Univ.), and AI deployment in industrial settings(Dr. Masuda, Mitsubishi Electric Corp.) -- and will set out strategic directions and an overall approach to advancing a shared vision for the future of society.
