What is AutoML?
An easy development way for embedded engineers without AI skills

The adoption of edge AI, which operates on local devices rather than cloud-based AI, is advancing. However, integrating AI into embedded devices—which still require C-language-based development skills—faces various challenges. Among these, the question remains: How can embedded engineers, who have had limited exposure to AI development, respond to market trends and launch edge AI development projects? This presentation will explain AutoML as a method to accelerate edge AI development for embedded devices, introduce what AutoML can achieve, and showcase application examples.

Senior Manager

Takashi Kimura

In 2013, Takashi KIMURA joined STMicroelectronics K.K. After gaining extensive experience in customer support as a sales, he is currently engaged in marketing general-purpose microcontrollers. While proposing and supporting microcontrollers and microcontroller-centered solutions for a wide range of domestic markets and customers, from consumer devices to industrial equipment, he began proposing microcontroller-based AI technologies in 2017. Currently, he is promoting and supporting the proposal and dissemination of "embedded AI," an edge AI technology based on microcontrollers and microprocessors, for the Asia-Pacific region excluding China.
