Learning from Leading European Examples:
Data Security for Enhanced Data Utilization

To further advance digital transformation, ensuring the secure and safe utilisation of data containing personal and confidential information remains a significant challenge. Drawing on Europe's leading practices in promoting data utilisation within a stringent regulatory environment, we will examine how these approaches can be applied within Japan. We will introduce the latest European examples, including innovative data utilisation strategies premised on GDPR compliance in healthcare, finance, and manufacturing; privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs); and the use of digital IDs. We will explain concrete approaches to the challenges faced by Japanese companies and organisations.
