Automotive Security Strategy in the SDV Era

Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) is often likened to the “smartphoneisation of the automobile” due to its nature. The SDV ecosystem is expected to expand, involving diverse stakeholders such as OEMs, suppliers, cloud providers, and third-party application and service developers. This structural shift may lead to an increase in security threats beyond what has been seen previously. Conversely, unique security challenges arise specific to the automotive domain, distinct from those encountered with smartphones. This presentation will examine the commonalities and differences between SDVs and smartphones, exploring strategies for ensuring security in the SDV era.
