Risk Management and Changes in Cybersecurity Activities with SDV

The advent of SDVs (Software-Defined Vehicles) is driving a significant transformation in automotive development practices. This shift also calls for new approaches to cybersecurity management systems currently being implemented in the automotive industry. For example, to maximize the value of SDVs, in-vehicle software updates are expected to be carried out repeatedly within shorter cycles. Additionally, there will likely be an increase in cases where vehicles connect to third-party external services or cloud platforms. While these advancements enhance convenience, such as more robust connected features and improved integration with charging infrastructure, they also heighten the risk of cyberattacks targeting vehicles. In this presentation, we will explore the evolving risks in the SDV era, how traditional cybersecurity activities need to adapt, and what measures are required to address these changes effectively.
