Trends and Recent Examples in the LLM Field

We focus on the latest R&D trends and research examples in Japan and abroad, combining our insights from conducting AI data research since 2020. Our goal is to answer the question: “What types of AI data can improve model accuracy?” While AI solutions are being launched one after another in Japan, specialized models for specific domains have not yet reached practical usability. I look forward to discussing why this is the case.

I’ve been passionate about AI and machine learning since my university days, where I focused on natural language processing research. After that, I developed machine learning models, mainly for image processing, at AI startups and fintech companies. I also worked as a freelancer, building AI applications across industries like fashion, HR, and architecture. I even created a specialized curation service as a personal project. I joined APTO in 2024 and now focus on developing datasets for large language models in our R&D division.

Takuya Omi

I'm a project manager overseeing AI-driven service planning and development. During graduate school, I worked with a news media company to streamline workflows using NLP libraries, develop AI systems, and improve products based on user behavior data. Later, I worked as a UX/UI designer for a video streaming service, designing user experiences and performing data-driven problem analysis. Currently, I lead projects that apply NLP and LLMs to create new products, and I also work on designing training methods and generating synthetic data to improve model accuracy.

After graduating from Rikkyo University, I worked in publishing and cybersecurity before joining APTO in 2022. Since 2024, I’ve been leading the company’s business and corporate divisions, as well as our R&D team. I'm happy to supporting companies in solving AI challenges from a data-first perspective and actively publishing research data both in Japan and internationally.
