NTT-ME, a member of the NTT East Group, will enter the container based data center business to meet the growing demand for data centers capable of accommodating high performance GPU servers essential for AI processing—a domain in which demand is currently said to be outpacing supply. Container-Based Data Center enables short deployment timelines and offers the flexibility to accommodate customer requirements. As the first phase of this initiative, we have acquired approximately 50,000 square meters of land in Ishikari City, Hokkaido and aim to start launch service in early 2027. In addition, to address the diverse needs arising from the rapid increase in inter–data center traffic driven by the rapid advancement of AI and cloud, we will begin providing a high quality, low latency inter–data center network service in 2026, leveraging the All Photonics Network (APN) technology promoted under the NTT Group’s IOWN (Innovative Optical and Wireless Network) initiative.
