The importance of digital transformation has been highlighted; DAIKIN INDUSTRIES, LTD. has been working on agile development. Initially, there was a lack of engineers with knowledge of it, so we started a project with members who were willing to learn The project seemed to be progressing well because we were able to get immediate feedback and revise the system, but as we were progressing, various issues emerged. Today, we will tell you about the difficulties we faced and how we solved them, as well as our current development structure and team culture.

Infrastructure and Back-end engineer(Python/TypeScript/AWS). In 2016, Takeshi Morinibu joined DAIKIN INDUSTRIES, LTD. and worked as a Data Scientist at Technology and Innovation Center for 3 years. Then, he built a team for the energy management business to innovate operations through IT, and launched “EneFocus-alpha” as a new product with the business sector the following year. As a leader of the development team, he has continued the maintenance, improvement, and development of the product.

Gakuto Ohtomo

Front-end and Back-end engineer(Python/TypeScript/Vue.js/AWS). In 2019, Gakuto Ohtomo joined DAIKIN INDUSTRIES, LTD. and studied AI and data analysis at Daikin Information and Communications Technology College for two years. After that, he led the development of the entire service as the lead engineer of the team. With "broad and deep" as his motto, he aims to become a full-stack engineer. He will be actively involved in training members and enhancing the IT skills of the workers of his department.
