Software Defined Vehicles and the Necessary Architecture for Future Mobility

This presentation will present the changes triggered by SDV from a vehicle development perspective and a mobility architecture perspective. The first half explains the changes in vehicle development as the value of the vehicle shifts to the software of the vehicle. Change in technology relevant for this transformation will also be explained, including the trends towards centralized E/E architectures. The latter half will focus on the mobility architecture aspect. Here a new system architecture for the mobility sector, which enables efficient deployment of mobility features, will be proposed. In addition, the role of standardization activities in the automotive industry for the implementation of the architecture will be explained.

Christian Mecker

Christian Mecker is EVP in Bosch Mobility Solutions and Director in Bosch Corporation in Japan. He joined Robert Bosch in 1992 as the application and sales engineer in Gasoline Engine Systems division, and was engaged in project management in Starter Motors, Electrical Drives, and Diesel Engine Systems divisions. He was in charge of sales and project management in Powertrain Solutions division as SVP from 2015, and assumed the current position in Nov. 2020.

Yuichiro Goto is General Manager in charge of Systems Engineering and Technical Strategy in the Mobility Solutions sector in Bosch Corporation in Japan. He joined Bosch Japan in 2007 as a component engineer and since then engaged in combustion systems engineering, component acquisition project management and powertrain systems engineering. He takes the current position from May 2020.
