Enhancing the Value of Automobiles through Open SDV and Challenges for Realization

Recently, the term "SDV" (Software Defined Vehicle) has been gaining attention. If third parties can develop and provide application software to control vehicles (Open SDV), it could accelerate innovation in mobility and potentially transform the value of automobiles. This presentation will explain how Open SDV might change the value of automobiles and discuss the challenges toward its realization. Additionally, it will introduce the efforts of the Open SDV Initiative launched by Nagoya University.

Executive Director of Global Research Institute for Mobility in Society

Hiroaki Takada

Hiroaki Takada is the Executive Director and a Professor at Global Research Institute for Mobility in Society (GREMO) , Nagoya University. He is also the Executive Director of the Center for Embedded Computing Systems (NCES), Nagoya University. He received his Ph.D. degree in Information Science from University of Tokyo in 1996. His research interests include real-time operating systems, real-time scheduling theory, dependability of embedded systems, automotive embedded systems, and dynamic map. He is the leader of the TOPPERS Project, a project to develop open-source real-time operating systems for embedded systems.
